Myself and my friend & colleague Chris will be cycling 250 miles from central London to Paris on Friday 13th July, arriving at the Eiffel Tower just 30 hours later (hopefully!). While unlucky for some, we’re looking forward to the challenge and will be raising money for Alpha 1 Awareness UK – a charity providing support to sufferers of Alpha-1 Antitrypsin deficiency.
Antitrypsin deficiency is a disease affecting around 1500 individuals of European decent and causes severe lung disease and liver disease. This disease has been the focus of my research for my PhD at University College London for the past 4 years and through my interactions with patient sufferers I have seen the importance of continuing work in this field.
We would be very grateful of any support you can give towards our challenge and the Alpha-1 Awareness charity. Every little does count!
Thanks, Alistair & Chris.
